Lecturer in Harp
Mary Foss is the principal harpist of the Des Moines Symphony and the Waterloo/Cedar Falls Symphony. She received both her Bachelor of Music and Graduate Diploma in Harp performance from the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston. She has studied with Frances Tietov of the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra, Eileen Mason of the Baltimore Symphony and Ann Hobson-Pilot of the Boston Symphony Orchestra. Her additional studies include the Salzedo summer Harp Colony in Camden, Maine; the Tanglewood Music Center in Lenox, Massachusetts' and the National Orchestral Institute in College Park, Maryland. Ms. Foss has given numerous recitals throughout the U.S. and has been featured soloist with the Jamaica Plain Symphony in Boston, the St. Francis Chapel Foundation in Lincoln, Nebraska, and with the Des Moines and Fort Dodge Symphonies in Iowa.
