To start the new season, join the ISU Symphony on a musical world tour! Zhou Long's explosive The Rhyme of Taigu is twelve incredible minutes of drumming, juddering strings, temple bells, coiled clarinet solos and trumpet tattoos, all in a patterning of relentless jazzy rhythms. It is followed by Debussy's luxurious Prelude to an afternoon of a faun. The concert also features Khachaturian's darkly glamorous Waltz from his Masquerade Suite, and American composer Steven Bryant's dramatic Dusk for orchestra. The concert concludes with the infectious energy of Marquez's Danzon no. 2.
