Musica Antiqua's evening performance in Early
The community concert in the evening following
the school programs was sponsored by Schaller, Early, and Nemaha businesses
and clubs with support from the Iowa Arts Council. Students were admitted
free of charge. The program was entitled Music from the Middle Ages
and Renaissance and included a sampling of many music and dance styles.
The audience was engaged in singing a round from the time of Shakespeare,
and local students entertained the audience with several early dances.
Following the program, audience members were invited on stage to view instruments
and to ask questions. Area cooks provided many tasty treats for an after-concert
snack.
